Basecamp Potsdam

I'd give 0 if I could.BaseCamp is only designed to make the most profit from desprate students. The rent is super high (680€ for a 24 m^2 apartment) They do not care about their residents at all. First example to prove my point is the availability of only 4 washing machines for 6 houses and about 180 (!) residents. Secondly the Internet isn’t usable. They promise to deliver 100 Mbits but there is no Ethernet Jack in the room and the only way to connect to the Internet is via WiFi hotspots outside the rooms (by the way, you can only connect 4 devices), which in turn make the Internet connection very unstable and it can go down to about 20 Mbit when multiple people try to go online. It is absolutely unusable for anything that needs fast Internet.The whole design of the rooms also just serves to make them look good. Practicality is really only an afterthought. For example the concrete floors might look good on photos and advertisings, but are littered with spots and discoloration from the previous owners.Besides that there are other grievances I've had during my stay:The windows can't be fully opened which makes cleaning them impossible. The desk is anchored to the wall which makes routing cables behind it impossible. The drawers underneath the desk are very flimsy and fall out regularly. Broken things don't get repaired for months. When I arrived the door lock of the house was broken and it was only repaired after half a year! The washing machines regularly break and also don't get repaired for months (with the already low number this makes washing your clothes really complicated). They are also super expensive (a normal wash about 3€ and the dryer also more than 3€).All in all I can say, that because of the high price and the low quality service you get (Internet is a huge problem!), I wouldn't recommend BaseCamp to ANYONE!

Pretty much agree to one of the previous comments goes as price is very high and they care only about money". No proper floor (naked concrete) and the previous stains are vivid and no way to clean. And after i checked out for two months

The service is awful. When you try to reach out to base buddies sometimes they are not even available and they do not answer to you when you call them. It is written: Call base buddies for emergencies" but nevermind which emergency you have

I lived in Basecamp for 3 years now and I am totally satisfied. If you are studying or working in University, it is the ideal place to live. The room are nice and have everything you need. Presence of a gym and laundry in the building 3, as well as a common area.In Basecamp, I found very nice and friendly people and the managers are always very helpful with every maintenance problem you could have.

Great place for students and for people starting new life in Berlin. In addition to living space, you will also have a comfortable area for studying, fitness studio, cinema theatre, lobby for parties and for playing ping-pong. REWE Supermarket and Golm Train Station are in 5 minutes walk. From Golm Train Station you can reach Potsdam Hbf in 10 minutes and Berlin Hbf in one hour. Great super fast internet! Rooms without kitchen are cheaper and you can use common kitchen, where you can cook with other people and meet new friends. When I was on probation period at the new job, I was able to use the apartment as a home office without problems, using my laptop. Bathroom is very large, comfortable and has powerful ventilation system. If there are any issues, you can always ask Basecamp Manager or BaseBuddy for help, or use special Whatsapp chat for any questions.The payment includes all costs: heating, electricity, hot and cold water and internet. No need to worry about unexpected costs! I

I've lived here for 8 months and have an overall good experience, specially because of the help of Jenna, the assistant manager, always ready to help everyone with anything and that made both my check-in and checkout flawless.The facilities are good and modern (it includes gym, study room, lobby, cinema room, laundry and terraces). The main issues for me was the cement floor, really hard to clean and creating a lot of dust and the overall cleanness of common spaces (the cleaning company ought to do better).The location is great in the sense that it's a really calm area but the train station is 5 min away walking so you can reach everywhere from there with the RE. It's also close to some campus and to REWE.ps: the Halloween party was pretty awesome as well.

I‘ve lived here for the past 2 years while finishing my degree.Perfect housing for students and young professionals. Rooms are well designed with high quality furniture, comfortable mattress and just awesome bathroom. Even though the location might not be the most central, nature around is great and you can easily commute everywhere with the public transportation.Whenever we had any problems, BaseCamp manager Jenna was there to help us. At night and on weekends there is always BaseBuddy to solve the issue.I‘ve had a great time living there and I highly recommend this place.

A good sudent residence located near Potsdam University (Golm campus). To get to or come from Potsdam Hauptbahnhof you can either take the bus (30 min) or train (10 min). There are two options of rooms, with and without a kitchenette. Laundry is available in a pay per wash system. There is a big shared living room as well as spacious quiet study room. Good environment to focus and study since the area is quite isolated. For groceries, there is a Rewe store that opens from 7 am to 8 pm form Monday to Saturday.

As with everything there's pros and cons about living at Basecamp PotsdamPros:- there's the basic furniture needed.- great location (love being surrounded by nature and it's close to many things like institutes/uni, rewe and of course the train station).- blackout curtains.- a lot of fruit trees around (plum, apple and pear).- very helpful and kind managers/basebuddies that can help you at pretty much all hours (this was especially helpful when it came to paper work since i come from Denmark).- there are rooms for studying, working out, cinema and a laundry room which makes life easier.- for people that love socializing, there are events pretty frequently.- loved living in this city.Cons:- concrete floor that can be difficult to clean- rent can be expensive- i had a room with a kitchenette but there was no kitchen hood, so i had to open the windows a lot- in the summer i also opened my window a lot, so i had quite a lot of insects in my room, but that's probably because i lived on the ground floor and it was summertime.- unfortunately my room was quite messy when i moved in, so i had to clean everything myself (although i was told they have a cleaning team, so you might get lucky).- you don't always get a fast response if you write an email, but if it's urgent you could always go to the reception (i was also there at a time where we got a new manager so obviously things can take a little while to get used to).Overall i've had my complaints here and there, but i've been pretty content living at BaseCamp Potsdam.

I stayed in Basecamp. If you are studying in potsdam it is one of the most good accommodation solutions. The building is new and heating works perfect. The noise isolation can be problem sometimes but we can inform eachother on whatsapp group in a Basecamp. I think staff and the general management works well especially Basebuddy system which is like off hours helpers group formed from the students staying in Basecamp.
